A cannabis company growing flower products and producing edibles was experiencing reoccurring challenges with microorganisms in their air handling, drains, and curing/drying room environments. With increased pressure to keep their products as safe as possible, the company was looking for help to reduce Listeria spp. in the facility, clean the drains and lower total APC counts in the curing/drying rooms. They wanted a solution that lowered their water usage and use of toxic chemistries. The company learned about PURE’s success in produce processing and reached out for help.

PURE's team helped develop a treatment plan to apply PURE Hard Surface to environmental and product contact surfaces and PURE Hi-Foam cleaner in the drains. Treatments were applied in between the curing of batches and growth cycles of product.

Results:

The treatment plan was able to control the total APC in the environment and on product contact surfaces, eliminate Listeria spp., and keep the drains clean. The results were so outstanding that the plant expanded use to all 15 + curing rooms in each of its three facilities mirroring strong protocols followed by large produce companies using PURE’s innovative solutions.
